Most drivers treat their rear windows as little canvases for light amusement. Stick figures representing a  family of four, the logo of a favorite sports team, decals announcing a child’s extracurricular achievements. These are the small badges of identity, carefully curated to convey bits of personality without demanding attention. They are impersonal, humorous, and easily ignored.
